During the fall and winter of 2016, a group of water protectors fought the completion of a pipeline on sacred land in current day North Dakota. Dubbed the "black snake", the pipeline was ultimately approved and completed.  When The Water... explores the repetitive and historical treatment of the indigenous population and their fight for cultural survival.
